Gerry’s dnata, a 50-50 joint venture between dnata and Gerry’s and provides high quality and efficient ground handling services to airlines in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar International airports
The position
Reporting to the Manager flight and airport operations, he is responsible for the effective monitoring and control of all operational day to day activities.  Through prescribed guidelines and procedures established by management accomplishes the highest standard of safety, customer services efficiency & punctuality.
Accountabilities:
  • Ensures each department is prepared to achieve on time performance by effective coordination of activities through the functional Duty Managers /Duty Officers in each area.
  • Continually monitors operating procedures and recommends potential areas of improvement to VP-Pakistan.
  • Inspects operational sections to ensure company standards and discipline are being maintained by Duty Managers / Duty Officers and Line Supervision and take appropriate measures in case of any deviation.
  • Maintain close monitor of operational matters relating to the efficient ground handling of customer airlines through use of SITA, EMAIL, DCS, and usual communication channels.
  • Liaises with all section Duty Managers / Duty Officers to ensure that safe working practices and procedures are fully adhered to and taken corrective action where necessary. 
  • Monitors and coordinates all section activities to ensure ground handling commitments are met and optimum aircraft turned around times are achieved inline with customer requirements.
  • Ensure at all units i.e.. Traffic, Ramp operation, Cargo, Security, Flight Operations and baggage services are effectively performing functions.
  • Controlling and monitoring all activities in traffic, baggage services, Cargo operations, Security and ramp operations
  • Close liaisons with all department to run smooth operations 
  • Ensure proper disbursement of manpower in the respective section.
  • Ensure efficient management Training Program and maintain high quality of training
  • Maintain high standard of discipline in all sections.
  • Act as management representative for Integrated Management System implementation and attend all management meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

 
  • Preferably graduate from recognized and reputable institution/university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in aviation, 5 years of
  • Which in a strategic functional management role, preferably in aviation.
  • Must have completed relevant professional training courses. (Advanced courses in Passenger Services, Reservations and Ticketing, Ground Operations, Cargo, Weight and Balance Baggage Service and Claims and Behavioral Skills).
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing skills while dealing with all levels of management and cultural sensitivity
